Head in the Sand?

Several friends and myself were having a lively exchange on Facebook the other day about George Bush and President Obama. I made my usual point that one was Progressive and the other Progressive Lite and I did not really care for either. One girl with whom I went to high school made the usual text book put down of GWB and said "Obama is A-OK with me!" I cannot help but wonder if she really believes that or whether her head has been in the sand for the past year. Even if you are not conservative, I do not see how any logical thinking person cannot see that the current leadership (not just the executive branch) in Washington is bad for our country.

Restoring Honor

Best wishes to all attending the Restoring Honor Event at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. My friend Wes is en route as I type. Contrary to what the lame stream media is reporting, this is not a political rally. As Glenn Beck has said, leave your signs at home...just bring yourself, your children and celebrate and honor God and America.

Good Feeling to Know

I understand as a Christian that simply attending a local church does not make one a Christian anymore than walking into a garage makes you a car, but I am happy to say that, at least at this point, all my children, their spouses and their children are attending churches. Only God knows the heart, but I believe my kids are in the faith, and it is a good feeling to know that their families are in situations where they will learn about the Lord and the grandkids are learning a lifestyle where God and church are included. We tried to raise our children the best we knew how at the time, and maybe some of the hard work and heartache paid off.

Pet Peeve of the Day

Time now for “Pet Peeves” or “Things that Really Tick Me Off”.  On any road or highway of at least four lanes width, the inner or left lane is considered the passing lane.  In other words, in theory, faster traffic uses this passing lane while slower traffic uses the right lane.  So why is it almost every morning on my daily commute to work I am stuck behind someone in the “passing” lane who obviously wants to travel slower than me?  The only logical answer I can come up with is that most of these individuals have a left turn in their future and I assume they feel the need to stake a claim on the inner lane miles before their destination.  I am looking for a left turn myself, but I travel at the posted speed limit or just above.  Of course they are moving at 10mph less than that or slower.  Do I pass these NASCAR experts on the right?  No, I patiently ride their bumpers until they make that inevitable left turn or until I reach my destination…whichever comes first.  Call it stubbornness or insanity, but in the left lane I stay!

It Works Both Ways

In regards to this mosque near Ground Zero controversy…
Yes, America is a country where individuals are allowed to practice their religious freedom.  However, I am not being intolerant when I say that once someone else’s faith crosses a certain line, as in imposing their beliefs on me or blowing up people…then we have a problem and it is time to push back.  “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is what it is all about and most rational human beings will agree with this “Golden Rule”.   I think it is naive to believe that there are not those within the Muslim faith who are bent on the destruction and/or conversion of everyone else to their way of life.  We must remain vigilant as to what is happening around us in this free society in which we live.

Spelling Lesson

It is obvious from this website I am a conservative, but I am not a Republican. I am not anti-Republican as long as the one in question has his/her principles in order. With that said, here is a humorous comment I found on the Fox Nation website:

A short spelling lesson:
The last four letters in American....
I Can
The last four letters in Republican...
I can
The last four letters in Democrats...
Rats
End of lesson.
Test to follow in November.

Encouraging Signs

71 percent of voters who turned out for a recent election in Missouri made it perfectly clear they are not happy with Obama Care. That large percentage also included a number of Democrats. Many are waking up to the fact that the regime in Washington does not have the best interests of the American people included in their agenda. Election day is less than 90 days away.....vote out the enemies of freedom!

Tea Party Meeting

I attended my first Tea Party meeting tonight. There were over 130 people in attendance with a good cross-section in age. We opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. The four principles of the Tea Party were stated and there were several speakers. The emphasis was on action. We are not to just sit around and talk about what's wrong with our country, but also to do something about it. There was a segment of the meeting called the "Lightning Round" where anyone was allowed to speak their mind for two minutes. One gentleman, whose family fled the tyranny of Fidel Castro in Cuba 50 years ago, gave a very passionate talk about how we need to preserve our Constitutional Republic and not sit around and let socialism take over. He drew the parallel between what is happening in our country today to the past in Cuba when Castro was promising "hope and change" to the people. The next meeting is expected to be more of a workshop where the participants will break up into groups or committees to move the Tea Party forward in political action. I was glad to see they are about principles and not political parties.

Church Holds Vigil In Support Of Immigrants | digtriad.com | Triad, NC | Local News

Here's a good one everybody....they don't tell you a total of fifteen (15) people attended this bogus gathering. The lamestream media reports a bleeding-heart rally with 15 participants, but let thousands of tea party protesters hold a rally, it will either be ignored or just the fringe crazies will be covered.

Windows IE8 only has the large market share because it comes pre-loaded on most new computers. Chrome as well Firefox runs rings around IE8. I've used them all. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
